"Comfortable with truth? Comfortable with discourse. Uncomfortable with truth, uncomfortable with discourse."

`

Author Richard L. Evans  From "This day and always"

Truth = a symbol of a thing or a idea we allow it by common consent. As a variable as a relative term. True for a time only, what is true for this day, true for yesterday, sounds plausible until we reduce it to specific cases. There was once the truth that the world was flat. Being believed does not make it true. Truth can not be made by authority and can not be unmade by authority. No monopoly on truth it is deathless, ageless, imperishable, unconquerable. Truth is eternal. Truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come; and whatsoever is more or less than this is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning . . . The Spirit of truth is of God. Elsewhere it is written, And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Truth is a constant. And so far as man is concerned limited only by knowledge of, or ignorance of it.

A search for the truth is the search for the meaning of life. No fundamental truths are in conflict with each other, and acceptable where ever it is found. All we ask is they accept no error just because it happens to be popular and reject no truth, regardless of its consequences. Sometimes we have to wait for the truth to unfold yet we don’t want to. Theories are often the stepping stones to truth, but they must be regarded with suspicion until greater light comes to credit or discredit them conclusively.

Wisdom comes when we learn to know how much we don’t know, and when we learn to remember how much that was accepted as dogmatic truth yesterday is now in the discard, and how many of today’s positive assertions will be discarded by those who follow us.

When people disagree fundamentally it is either one is wrong or both are wrong. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom and the man that getteth understanding. Truth has no beginning and no end.

Strategy of truth needs no continual reinforcement to prove the truth unlike falsehoods and lies which need continually be explained by more falsehoods and lies. Until it falls under it own weight of falsehoods and lies. There is and never will be a man smart enough to permanently support lies, and falsehoods, permanently. Way to promulgate false truth is to yell loud enough and long enough will be believed. And state a lie, half-truth, get media to repeat, then repeat the media as the exposer of the lie and half-truth. Truth carries it own convictions, by the still small voice. We spend a lifetime on a diet of news censored at the source, and form our opinions and make our decisions on the basis of false information. Beware lest you are deceived. Wishful thinking = guilty of deciding of what we would like to believe, hope to be true, settle down to compliancy of thinking of those things as an accomplished fact. Choosing to believe what we would like to believe regardless of what is true, makes final shocks all the harder to meet and reality all the more difficult to face.

A truth is often times harder to face than a falsehood, because you can manipulate falsehood but can’t manipulate truth. Easier to find truth than to accept it.

Let your words tend to edifying one another. Victories of lost causes have been repeated times without number. Truth has been on trial in the clouded minds of men in all ages.

Only one right cause truth, only one wrong cause error.

The attitude with which men approach life determines the enjoyment they gain from living. Some of us are inclined to make things difficult by fighting against the inevitable. Others accept the inconveniences and disappointments of living until they can control or modify them. Tolerance and eager open-mindedness for truth are so becoming to those who have been blessed with the virtues of truth.

One of the most satisfying concepts of our day and of all time is this; the glory of God is intelligence. Refers not merely to intelligence as knowledge, but to intelligence as the wise and judicious use of knowledge. Not mere possession of knowledge because many with knowledge, do not make intelligent use of it. For destruction, self-gratification, domination, or oppression of others. The more intelligent a man becomes, the nearer he approaches knowledge and understanding of God. Never forget the Source of truth.
